Platform updates
Picture login
DB Primary now has a picture login option for younger children or pupils with special educational needs. By choosing ‘Picture login’ in account administration, pupils can choose up to five pictures from a choice of either animals or fruits to act as a visual login.
Spellcheck in Wiki area for teachers
When customising a community in the wiki area, those with a teacher theme now have a spell-check included in their text editor. This allows for quick and easy editing for teachers, whilst starter and improver themes remain the same.
Auto-generated passwords for bulk uploading accounts
Bulk uploading accounts is now even easier with the introduction of auto-generated passwords. By including a password field in your spreadsheet when uploading, DB Primary will automatically generate six-letter passwords using common words. You can then export this information for a list of your passwords.
Deleting recurring events in the Calendar feature
You are able to set events in the calendar as recurring to daily, weekly and monthly. You now have the option, however, to delete either one instance or all instances of this event for when events are cancelled temporarily or permanently.
Local Communities
You can now create communities for individual pupils. Using DB Primary Local Communities, you are able to create private learning logs for each individual pupil which only that pupil, teacher and parent can see. This enables parental reporting and the ability to set targets for the children. Children develop rapidly during the early years and having a learning log allows for communication between teachers and parents, ensuring that parents are always informed of their child’s progress at school.
Usage Statistics
You are now able to track the usage of your DB Primary platform to see how much parents and pupils are using it at home. This will not only allow you to see when and how they are using the platform, but can also be a good indication of who may need extra training.
Starter Themes
As well as our popular Alien starter theme, we now have a new fairytale theme for pupils to personalise their page. This skin can be set by staff for the pupil account.
Website Updates
New Website themes
We now have two new website themes- Photoworld and Uniform. The Photoworld theme enables you to use your own background image as well as incorporating a slideshow from your gallery feature to showcase images that relate to your school. The Uniform theme allows you to customise the background colours to reflect your own school uniform.
New Slideshow feature
The DB Primary slideshow feature is available now in any website theme. This uses tagged images from your gallery embedded into your homepage to create a showcase of photos.
